TANCO began its journey back in 1967, when Jesús Tanco set up an architecture firm and stepped into the world of real estate development. In 2003, Jorge Tanco joined as an architect, steering the company into new business directions. For two generations, we’ve combined seasoned expertise with modern innovation and professionalism. From the very start, our commitment to quality has been our calling card.

We grow by embracing industry changes
Since then, numerous projects, urban planning initiatives, and housing developments have been conceived and executed, starting in the original studio in the Amara neighborhood of San Sebastián and continuing in the current offices located in the Zuatzu Business Park, which became the Group’s headquarters in 2002. Over the years, more than 900 architecture and urban planning projects have been completed: over 7,000 designed and delivered homes, hotels, offices, industrial warehouses, residential facilities, supermarkets, and both general and detailed urban planning initiatives.
Much has changed since the early days of our professional journey—society, tastes, preferences, and even the regulations affecting our industry have all evolved. Yet, we've always managed to move forward by adapting to these shifts, continually working to make our cities and homes better places to live. That's why, in 2004, we expanded our Group to offer a comprehensive range of services in management, land planning, construction, and housing development. As part of this growth and our commitment to establishing ourselves as a leader in the housing market, María Álvarez joined us in 2017.
